Who's Asking?

Someone in my program asked me today, "Are we allowed to ask questions in this program?"

Naturally, my response was circumspect.
"I can't directly respond to that, because doing so would implicitly endorse one of the competing viewpoints."

    I admire how you can come up with as succinct and pithy a response like that on the spot.

    The best I could do yesterday was, after reporting to our department secretary that I succeeded in pasting an Excel chart into a Word document as an "enhanced metafile," I remarked that it was much better than an enhanced pedaphile.
