With the exception of the ugly portmanteau
Isratine,
today's NYTimes op-ed argument for a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is thoughtful and even-handed. Few commentators achieve such a delicate balance, affirming both parties' rights and sufferings. The only thing more surprising is its authorship: that famous moderate, Col. Muammar Qaddafi, bylined as the "leader"
(qa'id) of Libya.
