I can't believe that your only thoughts are "Stick to the talking points." The fact that someone advocating bombing Iran reminds McCain of the beach boys is hardly going to get him in trouble especially considering that the "joke" lasted about 5 seconds before he appeared to move on to seriously address the question. You're just uptight.
It's not that *I* mind a candidate who can crack a joke (Giuliani is usually the best at it), but the media is unkind. And in the modern era of Youtube, there's no such thing as "context" anymore.
